I am a Registered Psychologist in Alberta and have over 15 years of experience working as a clinician with adults in outpatient hospital, community settings and in private practice. I have worked with clients on a range of mental health concerns including difficulties regulating emotions, anger, trauma, impulsive behaviours, relationship issues, depression and anxiety.
I am passionate about supporting clients in developing insight, connection to self, inner resources and new skills, to enable more effective ways of navigating through life struggles and to improve functioning and quality of life. My approach is client centred and collaborative and I strive to provide a safe, supportive and nonjudgmental environment to best support individuals in achieving their therapy goals.
I have training and experience in a variety of modalities of therapy including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) and humanistic approaches. My therapeutic approach is largely integrative and I often draw on several types of therapy depending on clients’ needs.
I have a special interest, training and experience in working with individuals who have experienced trauma, both single episode traumatic events as well as chronic/repetitive traumas in childhood and or adulthood. I also have experience working with first responders, including veterans and police, who have experienced operational stress injuries. Being trained in multiple evidence based treatments for trauma and PTSD enables me to support individuals in processing events and managing symptoms, while tailoring treatment to clients needs and preferences.
